<body> <div class='error'>Your browser does not support frames, or is currently configured to disable frames.<br> Please enable frames or try with different browser.</div> <a href="http://www.stegemanstextiel.nl/index.html">nederlandse versie</a> <h3>Welcome at Stegeman's Textiles</h3> <p>Stegeman’s Textiles is a specialized fabrics store in Rouveen, the Netherlands.<br>The village of Rouveen is part of the township of Staphorst where the locale population still wear their very unique, traditional costumes.<br> Both Staphorst and Rouveen are well known for their costumes, in the Netherlands as well as abroad.<br> That’s why we are able to offer fabrics that will be hard to find anywhere else.<br> Our collection consists of over 2300 different kinds of unique, folkloristic fashion and quilting fabrics.</p> <h3>General information</h3> <p>Our collection of fabrics consists of 2300 different kinds of patterns: from flowery fabrics to checkered, from striped to bespeckled. All these patterns are offered in a beautiful array of colors. We are the right address for any kind of fabric for the Staphorst traditional costumes or for any folkloristic costume for that matter. Our store offers a wide variety of traditional fabrics e.g. black linen, wool and cotton tibé, falegrein and blue beaverteen. We also carry black and white lace.</p> <h3>Folkloristic fabrics</h3> <p>Both in Rouveen and Staphorst, traditional costumes are still a common sight. To better serve the people still wearing these costumes, we have maintained several contacts with specialized textile vendors. This enables us to offer you some very hard to find, unique fabrics. Part of our collection consists of special lace and tulle which are manufactured primarily for traditional ladies’ caps and bonnets. We offer “batist”, white tulle and speck-tulle in different widths. Our store carries a collection of second-hand traditional costume clothing-items like handwoven skirts, blue cotton aprons, wool- and cotton folkloristic undershirts, red and blue kerchiefs, Staphorster “toefmutsen” and many more items.</p> <h3>Quilting fabrics</h3> <p>Our store offers new inspiration for every creative person who enjoys working with beautiful fabrics. Our collection of country-style themed fabrics is very suitable for quilters. The selection has a wide variety of patterns and designs: cars, flowers, fruits etc. Some of them have matching panels. We also offer a great series of Christmas fabrics, completely with matching gold and silver lace-products. click on Christmas fabrics to see more)</p> <h3>Duvet and pillowcase fabrics</h3> <p>Some traditional fabric designs are still trendy and popular today. Our store carries a great variety of blue and red, flowery and checkered fabrics, including the traditional “milk and blood” design. These fabrics are very suitable for creating duvet-covers, pillowcases, curtains etc. The traditional feather pillow-slipcover (blue/white striped) is back in our collection.</p> <h3>Lace and ribbons</h3> <p>The embroidered ribbons are exclusively manufactured in Staphorst colors and designs. For a variety of Dutch costumes and other types of costumes we offer: black lace and ribbons, hook and eye-let ribbons, black “bezem” ribbons, black pearl and “gitten”. We carry unique lace- and “ball” ribbons which are very suitable for adding a traditional touch to cotton curtains, linen cloths or pillowcases.</p> <h3>Flowery woollen shawls</h3> <p>Special woollen shawls have been designed for use in creating “kraplappen”. The “kraplap” is a colorful shawl and a typical component of the traditional costume worn in Rouveen and Staphorst. This particular fabric can also be used for making folkloristic aprons or kerchiefs.</p> <h3>Clasp-locks, coils and buckles</h3> <p>We have over 50 different types of exclusive clasp-locks in stock. These clasp-locks vary in size from approximately 5 to 24 centimeters and are available in either gold- or silvercolor. If you are looking for a large assortment of buttons and buckles (very useful for traditional costumes) you are at the right address in our store.</p> <h3>Red handkerchiefs</h3> <p>Our store carries over 20 different kinds of the famous red handkerchief in four different sizes. We only offer handkerchiefs with the original Dutch quality.</p> <h3>Caps and 'farmers' shirts</h3> <p>The farmers’ shirts in our collection are designed and created in our own studio. They are available in sizes M-XXXL. We also carry special police- and fireman suspenders. Caps: black caps with or without button, checkered caps, French berets, black children’s caps</p> <h3>Miscellaneous</h3> <p>Large assortment of men’s and ladies’ underwear (incl. thermo-underwear), dresses, night gowns and pajamas, shirts and ties, sweaters and vests, household textiles, Dutch souvenirs, embroidery products (all colors D.M.C. embroidered silk), wool for socks.
